Best Craft Breweries in Lisbon, 2026

Picked by a bar that pours them every day.

In This Guide

Looking for the best craft breweries in Lisbon? We've been pouring Portuguese craft beer since 2020. Here's who we actually put on our taps.

There's no shortage of "best of Lisbon" lists online. Most are written by tourists who visited once. This one is different: we're an independent craft beer bar in Arroios, and every brewery on this list has been on our rotating taps at some point. We know their beers well, because we serve them every day.

Lisbon's craft beer scene has grown fast. What started with a handful of pioneering breweries in the early 2010s is now a thriving ecosystem of independent producers, each with their own identity and style. Here are the ones we think are worth your time in 2026. If you want to visit some of them in person, check out our self-guided craft beer walking tour.

The 9 Best Craft Breweries

In no particular order. Each one brings something different to the table.

Oitava Colina

Lisbon Pioneer

One of Lisbon's first craft breweries and still one of its best. Oitava Colina set the standard for consistent, well-made Portuguese craft beer. Their Urraca American IPA has become a genuine classic of the local scene. If you want to understand where Lisbon craft beer came from, start here.

Hopsin

Creative Force

Hopsin are one of the most creative breweries in Portugal right now. Their Hazy IPAs are some of the best in the country: approachable, well-balanced, and always interesting. We like them enough that we recently collaborated with them on our own Argentinian Hazy IPA, just launched this week.

LETRA Brewery

Classic Styles

LETRA are the reference point for classic styles done properly in Portugal. Their Red Ale and Oatmeal Stout are benchmarks. The kind of beers that show you don't need to be experimental to be excellent. A staple on our taps for good reason.

Rúnica

Bold & Creative

Rúnica take risks and they pay off. Their Red IPA and Golden Stout are exactly the kind of beers that make craft beer interesting. Unexpected combinations that actually work. If you like breweries that push boundaries without losing quality, Rúnica is your pick.

Dois Corvos

Always Something New

Dois Corvos are a machine. Their release pace is relentless and the quality stays high, which is no easy feat. If you're a regular at Queen Ale you'll know their name well because something from Dois Corvos is almost always on our rotating taps. One of the most dynamic breweries in the country.

Best of 2025

Our pick for the most impressive brewery of 2025. Fermentage combine the discipline of Czech classic styles with the creativity of modern craft brewing, a rare combination that produces beers of real depth and character. Watch this space.

Portuguese Roots

Founded in 2013 in Ericeira and twice named Portugal's Best Brewery by RateBeer, Mean Sardine have built their reputation on a solid, well-executed core range. Their Ericeira Sunset Dry Hopped Blonde Ale is a classic: light, refreshing, and a perfect introduction to Portuguese craft beer for anyone new to the scene.

Barona

Solid & Dependable

Barona sit in an interesting middle ground. Classic enough to please traditionalists, modern enough to keep things interesting. Their APA and West Coast IPA are both excellent examples of American-influenced styles done with a Portuguese sensibility. Consistently good.

RIMA

Sour Specialists

If you're into sours and goses, RIMA are in a class of their own in Portugal. The best in the country at what they do: complex, well-balanced, and endlessly drinkable. If you've never tried a Portuguese sour, RIMA is where you start.
